Local and Foreign Debt Comittee - Senate ( Photos)

The Nigerian Senate today hold  a meeting of the Local and Foreign debts Committee, in attendance were Chairman Sen. shehusani, Sen.Philip Gyunka, Sen. Jibrin Barau and DG of Debts and Management Office Mrs. Patience Oniha.

During the meeting Debt managent Strategies, Fiscal Responsibility, Growing revenues to avoid budget short falls lower interest rates, Judicious use of borrowed funds were discussed.

The Director General of Debts and Management Office said we must have a definite strategy for increasing revenue.

We need to borrow based on the budget.

We must ensure transparency in the accounts by Public Publishing.

Set up an efficiency unit where cost can be managed.

The lion of Africa Miriam Makeba

Zenzile Miriam Makeba (Mama Africa), was a South African great singer, United Nations Goodwill ambassador, Actor, and civil rights activist. She was associated with musical genres which includes Afropop, jazz, and world music, she was known for her advocacy against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa. Makeba's first name, Zenzile, means "you have no one to blame but yourself" or "you have done it to yourself", which seems unfair, considering how much her life was governed by external forces. In her time, she survived cancer, plane and car crashes, political coups and jailings.
