Nigeria Army Promotes 6,199 Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram in the North East

The Nigeria Army has promoted soldiers fighting Boko Haram in the North East in recognition of their service to the nation, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, approved the special promotion of 6,199 of them.

In a statement released by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman.

The soldiers serving in Operation LAFIYA Dole were promoted to various ranks between Lance Corporal to Warrant Officers.

According to the statement, 329 Staff Sergeants were promoted to Warrant Officers, 371 Sergeants were promoted to Staff Sergeants and 707 Corporals were promoted to Sergeants.

Also, 1,290 Lance Corporals were promoted to Corporals, while 3,502 Privates were promoted to Lance Corporals.

The Chief of Army Staff, who congratulated the soldiers for their promotion, called on them to intensify their efforts in clearing the remaining Boko Haram terrorists from the North East.
