Osinbajo, service chiefs currently in closed-door meeting

The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is currently in a closed-door meeting with the service chiefs at the Vice President’s wing of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.

Those in attendance are: Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Abayomi Olonishakin, the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Burata and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

Also in attendance are the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali and the Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima.

The lion of Africa Miriam Makeba

Zenzile Miriam Makeba (Mama Africa), was a South African great singer, United Nations Goodwill ambassador, Actor, and civil rights activist. She was associated with musical genres which includes Afropop, jazz, and world music, she was known for her advocacy against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa. Makeba's first name, Zenzile, means "you have no one to blame but yourself" or "you have done it to yourself", which seems unfair, considering how much her life was governed by external forces. In her time, she survived cancer, plane and car crashes, political coups and jailings. After the death of her father, she moved with her mother to Riverside in Pretoria, where, after sneaking repeatedly into rehearsals by the choir her sister Mizpha sang with, she was eventually allowed to join. Pro-Buhari group protest against Resign or Resume protest in Abuja

A group of protesters supporting President Muhammadu Buhari have taken over the street of the federal capital Abuja, on the morning of Thursday, August 10. The protesters who are members of the Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiative group were spotted at Unity Fountain carrying placards and singing solidarity songs in support of the ailing president. The group, led by Nelson Ekujumi of the Centre for Civil Society and Justice, said they will continue the process for 30 days. On some of the placards on display are words like: "We stand united for PMB."
