After Many Misses, Buhari Presides Over FEC Meeting

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received a standing ovation from members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the presidential villa, Abuja. Its a first meeting since April.
It's over 100 days of which he was out of Nigeria for medical treatment, the president has missed five consecutive meetings, two of which were canceled.

Last week President Buhari cancelled FEC meeting to receive the report of the Prof. Yemi Osinbajo-led presidential investigative panel on alleged corruption cases against the suspended secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke.

At Wednesday’s meeting, ministers offered prayers for the president, who had earlier before the commencement of the meeting, met with the Nigerian women basketball team who recently emerged African champions.

The lion of Africa Miriam Makeba

Zenzile Miriam Makeba (Mama Africa), was a South African great singer, United Nations Goodwill ambassador, Actor, and civil rights activist. She was associated with musical genres which includes Afropop, jazz, and world music, she was known for her advocacy against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa. Makeba's first name, Zenzile, means "you have no one to blame but yourself" or "you have done it to yourself", which seems unfair, considering how much her life was governed by external forces. In her time, she survived cancer, plane and car crashes, political coups and jailings. Pro-Buhari group protest against Resign or Resume protest in Abuja

A group of protesters supporting President Muhammadu Buhari have taken over the street of the federal capital Abuja, on the morning of Thursday, August 10. The protesters who are members of the Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiative group were spotted at Unity Fountain carrying placards and singing solidarity songs in support of the ailing president. The group, led by Nelson Ekujumi of the Centre for Civil Society and Justice, said they will continue the process for 30 days. On some of the placards on display are words like: "We stand united for PMB."
