URHOBO PROGRESS UNION Scholarship Grant Result for 2017 / 2018 Out

The umbrella body that actively works to advance the course of all Urhobo organizations and people in the United Kingdom. Have released scholarship Grant result for 2017/2018 successful Urhobo students in Nigeria report signed by the National President Chief (Barrister) Emmanuel Okpako Ganiga and the National Secretary Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) UK Olorogun Ted Ochuko Arayki

The result was announced by the body on the  UPU UK Annual International convention held on the 27th of August 2017, which showcase continuous heritage and history of the Urhobo people of the Niger Delta.

The ceremony was attended by  hundreds of Urhobo sons and daughters of Urhobo Nation.

The lion of Africa Miriam Makeba

Zenzile Miriam Makeba (Mama Africa), was a South African great singer, United Nations Goodwill ambassador, Actor, and civil rights activist. She was associated with musical genres which includes Afropop, jazz, and world music, she was known for her advocacy against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa. Makeba's first name, Zenzile, means "you have no one to blame but yourself" or "you have done it to yourself", which seems unfair, considering how much her life was governed by external forces. In her time, she survived cancer, plane and car crashes, political coups and jailings. After the death of her father, she moved with her mother to Riverside in Pretoria, where, after sneaking repeatedly into rehearsals by the choir her sister Mizpha sang with, she was eventually allowed to join. Pro-Buhari group protest against Resign or Resume protest in Abuja

A group of protesters supporting President Muhammadu Buhari have taken over the street of the federal capital Abuja, on the morning of Thursday, August 10. The protesters who are members of the Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiative group were spotted at Unity Fountain carrying placards and singing solidarity songs in support of the ailing president. The group, led by Nelson Ekujumi of the Centre for Civil Society and Justice, said they will continue the process for 30 days.
