PRESS RELEASE: News reports that Osinbajo now leading Aso Rock negotiations with ASUU are inaccurate.

FG-ASUU NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE UNDER LEADERSHIP OF LABOUR AND EDUCATION MINISTER

News reports that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, is now leading Federal government negotiations with Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU are inaccurate.

Media report seems to have misrepresented what labor and Employment minister, Dr Chris Ngige meant when he spoke with reporter about the negotiations after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

The Vice President had a discussion after FEC with both the Labour Minister and the Education Ministry Malam Adamu Adamu around the issue, but has not taken over the negotiations as widely reported. Both Ministers will continue to lead the ASUU talks.

The Federal Government continue to diligently pursue a prompt resolution of this dispute and is confident the matters would be resolved
