Breaking: JOHESU Strike indefinitely Over 720 sacked members, Others

The Akwa Ibom State chapter of Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU  commences statewide strike after servers warning were given to the State government without results.
In a circular distributed in all health centers in the state, JOHESU asked
the State government to recall 720 sacked council workers and health
officials who were dismissed  from service last year.

They also asked 80% CONHESS payment insisting that no alert, no work.
And requested 50% hazard allowance for all the health workers
fighting the COVID-19 epidemic and ask the government to recruit more health workers because of the shortfall occasioned by death and retirement.

Beehivetalk visited Immanuel Center Hospital and one of the community health centers outside Eket to confirmed the situation. Strike bulletin was on the Drug sorting door.

The Lady that spoke name withheld said the nurses and other sections have joined the strike. Doctors are still working. When I visited OPD,
people were there and attended to.

"80% CONHESS - NO ALERT, NO WORK"

"PAY US 50% HAZARD ALLOWANCE"

" EMPLOY HEALTH WORKERS"

"RECALL 720 SACKED LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS"

JOHESU advised members to stay safe at home during the industrial action.
